it is a tragedy for Japan to have leaders such as Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura who lack basic morals and manners.

No surprises here, Japan didn't abide by Pyongyang Declaration..that says it all.

Did anyone really want to go back for the funeral? If so, how did Japan stop them?

Don't they have that ship that makes a landing in Japan 3 times a month? Maybe the sailing dates didn't jibe with the funeral plans. Also, I would probably imagine that those who are here are probably not too willing to go back to NK. Imagine leaving a place like Japan, where you can go to the corner Covienience store and buy something to eat and going back to NK where you probably will not have such access to as much as you can here in Japan, or for that matter just watch a simple TV show or listen to the radio without some propaganda message. Probably becuase they know that once they get back to NK they will be treated as suspect by the ruling class as a threat and sent to a gulag. I would stay here myself, and sing song of praises, hoping never to return.

Maybe the Japanese Government should of sent some sort of letter but should also include the request "Please don't a murderous, immoral , dishonest 'Fruit Bat' like you father was. If you show your are not, maybe we can help prevent the many thousands of North Koreans from starvation-while you and all the other politicians live in corrupt luxury"

Well I'm sure the "country" can get over it soon when The Great Pudgy Successor proves to the world the glories of a system that employs nuclear blackmail and amphetamine production to keep its starved masses half alive because it can't manage to run a basic economy. Or perhaps when the whole world comes to respect a system that forces allegiance from birth to a privileged class of tyrants with stylish haircuts and gangster sunglasses. Then the planet will proclaim in tearful vibrato the heavenly majesty of the anointed fat boy.

N.Korea has shown the world how pathetic, ugliness and crying baby it can be. Morality? look who is talking about morality? The fact is that the whole world knows how abusive of N.Korea's regime, and we are not easy to brainwashed as N.Koreans. One day, the ICOJ will held the court case against these lunatics in Pyongyang; for sooner is better.

Why would people from Japan want to go back to N Korea after the wonderful heart warming welcome they got when they went to support the Blue Samurai in the recent Soccer match. Every dictatorship needs a common enemy to distract the attention of its subjugated population. This week it is Japan. The North Koreans shouldnt be surprised about the lack of morals of Noda and Fujimura, after all they are politicians, and that is a prerequisite of the job isnt it?

I agree with the North Koreans on this point only - Japan does have tragically woeful leaders. Having said that, at least they do not imprison, torture and execute their own people if they disagree. Jong-Un will probably be just like his disgusting grandfather and scumbag father.

Oh my gosh, they did not just seriously try to call Nippon out like that...! Right now, I'm like... seriously, North KR is extremely petty for even trying to say something such as this. They need to be worried about all those suffering people there in their country instead of bickering at Japan about send some condolences to them. They are a dictatorship for crying out loud! Japan would NEVER turn to something like that.

To be fair, Japan was not that far removed from the present military-run set-up in North Korea, pre-war. In fact, the North Koreans based some of their ideas on Imperial Japan.So Japan did turn to something like that - until we showed her the benefits and freedoms of democracy. Hopefully the poor koreans can somehow achieve our values of freedom some day.

meh, the NK pudgy leader complaining about the morals of anybody else is laughable. I'm glad the Japanese government thumbed their nose at the dictators. Better to let the dear pudgy leader know what the score is at the beginning of the game. We've seen how NK reacts to playing nice - they just grab all they can and then pitch a hissy fit.

Lol, this is hilarious. North Korea castigating Japanese leaders for having 'bad manners'. So funny when this dictatorship tries to criticise people - it's like being told off by an angry grandmother. A grandmother with nuclear weapons. And a starving population she refuses to feed.

Once NK resolves the issues over those kidnappings and stops acting like a spoilt brat who hates the rest of the world than perhaps Japan will start giving condolences. Till then though no.
