Sigh. As said before, Japan is using the Yokota visit for propaganda purposes, and again attempting to turn a bilateral issue into world politics. And of course, NK reacts like a baby. At least when Japan is embarrassed on the world stage they tend to backtrack and change things (not always... they also fall back on the "cultural heritage is being attacked" argument and get even more defensive), but with this NK will only further refuse to solve the abduction issue.

N.Korea does not belong at the U.N. Communist China will veto any attempt by human rights commission, like Russia veto against Crimea's resolution. The loop holes and weakest links are everywhere- simply a mess of ignorant.

The abduction of foreign nationals by Pyongyang is already an international issue. In addition to those Japanese nationals that were seized, there is documented evidence of the North Koreans also kidnapping a number of folks from East European countries (god knows why). Additionally, North Korea has also abducted a number of South Koreans over the years. Let's not pull any punches about this. Sure Japan has a preoccupation with the plight of its own nationals, but the issue of North Korea's past (and present conduct) is one of international rather than bilateral importance.

Neither China nor NK are communist countries. They are both imperial oligarchies. In China's case the eunuchs have enshrined the emperor, (Mao), and rule in his name. With NK it is a dynasty. In both cases the ruling powers enrich themselves at the expense of the masses. Russia, for whom the world had such high hopes after Gorby, it is the same in relation to the ruling oligarchies. Feudal and doomed to historical collapse.

NK were found to be in violation of human rights on an abhorrent level, after the UN panel interviewed hundreds of sufferers. Yet, China naturally jumps on NK's side and denies any wrongdoing.

I disagree with the statement that 'North Korea does not belong at the UN'. How else is the rest of the world going to at least try and communicate with them? Obviously, the North Korean state is bellicose, childish and despicable but they should always have a platform to engage with the rest of the world-even if they don't have the wisdom or manners to take advantage of it. One day things will hopefully change, and that change is more likely to come about if there are channels of communication.

I think you could have inserted another 'Communist' in front of 'North Korea' to open that sentence. I also think you could have replaced 'They' in the second sentence with 'Those Communists'. I think we get your jist and it's lovely to read old Cold War style rhetoric. Nostalgic for me.

The UN security council needs to be dissolved, too many corrupt regimes have been protected because of the Security Council.

Russia, Taiwan and ROK are not communists. PRC and DPRK are communists. All of them are unimpressive about Japan human rights record.

They all do not want to listen when Japan talked about human rights. Japan has no concern about the human rights of Okinawa farmers and Fukushima Victims. Japan should give them farming land and decent housing respectively before pretending as Champion of Human rights.

You can't be serious. North Korea has nuclear weapons and enough conventional warheads to leave Seoul and Tokyo in ruins. Not to mention the millions of refugees that would flood into China and Russia. To put it short, war with nk would be a $#!T storm of epic proportions. Truth hurts doesn't it? Of course the NK Ambassador walked out. He's a child. Slag off any country, he's ok with it. Slag off North Korea, suddenly that's unacceptable. Well, what do you expect? He's a perfect example of a brainwashed citizen. He won't be able to see the wood for the trees, even if you whack him in the face with a plank. As far as he's concerned, North Korea is paradise, and the rest of the world is a desolate hell hole run by corrupt politicians. The writing's on the wall, so he's going to paint over it. Japan has just as much right to speak about Human Rights violations as any country. If North Korea or China disagree with that, fine, but keep it to yourself. Not asking a lot, just the maturity that any world leader should show.

Also, why are people arguing about whether or not China or NK are communist? What does that matter? Are you trying to suggest that either of these countries not being communist somehow makes their atrocities acceptable? It doesn't matter if a country is a Communist State, an Oligarchy, or a Principality; massacring your own citizens, abducting foreign nationals and invading neighbouring countries are all still unacceptable regardless of the country's ruling party. Arguing that China is not communist is a moot point. It doesn't change the fact that Chairman Mao had millions of Chinese people killed during the Cultural Revolution. Arguing that North Korea is likewise irrelavent. It doesn't change the fact that they've been kidnapping foreign nationals or that their leader would have his own uncle executed. So stop, please.

Ranging from 'they have no place in the UN' to 'lock them inside the UN'. Both takes on this issue of North Korea sound like very North Korean solutions to a problem that clearly demands much more wisdom. I hope you guys don't have children...the thought of a world full of extreme reactionaries does not bode well for the future of the planet.

Which the NK and China obviously do not....

When NK invaded SK, UN was reactive withouth soviet veto. It's ironic that this right of veto was an idea by US that there are the responsible of this absurd Security Council that leave every sense to UN like organizazion indipendent by superpowers. US tought to rule world with veto together with soviets considered like dear friends inside mind of ingenuous Roosevelt ( he admired Stalin, more that Churcill ). Veto become the nightmare of White House later and with same silly idea americans gave this Veto Right to Mainland China to political purposes ( China antisoviet ) by hands of ROC early member of Secourity Council.

This Veto will block every serious move against Russia,China and NK that can grow and enforce and became more dangerous withouth fear of invasion.

I'm not really up to date with the latest weapon tech. But aren't they capable of intercepting rockets at launch time or flight time? Like keep a few jets circling around in case a missile is launched? Also there's a threat of Kim's mind snapping and launch the missiles "unprovoked".

How I see it is that N Korea is like a virus. Leave it alone and it will affect everything. Waiting will only delay the probability of war in NK's favor as it might further bolster it's armament. And who's to say biological weapons are not excluded?

Threats have been made. Don't take a fool lightly or you're in for a surprise.

Because North Korea became a UN member in 1991 at he same time South Korea did. Until then North Korea simply had "Observer Status". But you are right, why shuld acountry like North Korea even be permitted membership? But then, why should China which sent 250,000 troops to help North Korea kill UN. troops from 67 countries be allowed to sit on the Perm UNSC?
