    > Shame he's quitting. Japan needs more politicians that call a spade a shovel.

That's exactly what those outside Japan and laughing at her think.

  • Shumatsu_Samurai at 08:08 PM JST - 28th September

Come on Jpn you really gotta stop voting in these total losers otherwise you will only continue to get what you deserve

Problem is that the DPJ are an even greater bunch of losers - they make the LDP look good.

  • Shumatsu_Samurai at 08:10 PM JST - 28th September

Patrick, if you're looking forward to a fully deadlocked Diet (DPJ and co vetoing every government bill - no 2/3 majority in the lower house) then you're really sadistic!

  • romulus3 at 08:33 PM JST - 28th September

Like Romulus said before, The Military should take over and reinstate the Emperor. Anything is better than these corrupt men and women of greed.

Shame he's quitting. Japan needs more politicians that call a spade a shovel.

no, it doesnt. you are confusing being direct with being an ignorant prejudiced ass

I'm going to print out the Picture of the Day from last week, and put a big, black BATSU over the face of every face of an exiting cabinet member. let's call it LDP Bingo. Who'll join me?

Nakayama has resigned in shame. He brought shame on himself, on the LDP and on Japan. Good riddance. The sooner these dinosaurs realise that the "good old days" of getting away with fascist.neo Nazi remarks is over. One consolation for him might be that he could win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, 2009, as the Government Minister who lasted the shortest time in office. Why did Aso choose this moron in the first place? A good day for Japan.

It is fact that so many Japanese people completely agree to Nakayama Nariaki's opinion that Japan Teachers' Union is the main villain of Japanese Education.

Nakayama Nariaki has received vast amounts of emails and telephones from so many Japanese people have sympathized with his opinion.

  • Thenewfront at 06:12 AM JST - 29th September

TAMAGAWABOAT- If so many people agree, why does he resign in shame. Bwahahaha.

You support a politician with racist views, says it all really.

  • TAMAGAWABOAT at 06:31 AM JST - 29th September

    To Thenewfront<

Japan Teachers' Union repressed Nakayama Nariaki's freedom of opinion. Japanese constitution guarantees right of free speech. They should debate each other. However, Japan Teachers' Union has been suppressing free speech in Japan. Japan Teachers' Union is not only the main villain of Japanese Education but also major impediment to democracy.

  • Thenewfront at 06:38 AM JST - 29th September

TAMAGAWABOAT- He resigned over his remarks. He used freedom of speech saying lies, which a minister should be intelligent enough to realise is wrong.

Anyone who supports his stance supports racist remarks which offend many.

Thsi has nothing to do with any action by the teachers union.

  • TAMAGAWABOAT at 06:49 AM JST - 29th September

    to henewfront,

You should understand the difference between ‘wrong’ and ‘inappropriate'. Nakayama Nariaki has NOVER ONCE corrected his words. Nakayama Nariaki didn't want to cause trouble to the new Cabinet any more. So he resigned.

  • Thenewfront at 06:58 AM JST - 29th September

TAMAGAWABOAT- If there was nothing wrong or inappropriate why did he resign?

What does this have to do with the teachers union?

Wrong and inappropriate can both mean the same thing.

His remarks were offensive, and he had to leave, hope you agree, or you are in the far right minority.

I know LOTS of Japanese "friends" who daily say such things like this when I'm around them. Just recently, a "friend" I've known for 20 years said the very same thing over my last day helping out as English teacher in his section. "We don't really have to speak English because we are all uniquely Japanese." The next day in the car to play golf with 3 natives, my "friend " suddenly said, "English teaching is so easy, you have ZERO overhead, Zero Preparation materials etc." All as he chained smoked one cigarette after the next. They love to scratch their inferiority complex, which is what such comments like Nakayama Nariaki are. "We don't desire to live with foreigners". Just let us have access to YOUR markets. This is ours and this is ours too. Its shameful. But as all of you know, try talking "sense" with such people. You look like the troublemaker you are. Ha ha ha, double jeopardy. And so our lives go on here.
