MIYAZAKI —
A local chapter of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in Miyazaki Prefecture headed by new transport minister Nariaki Nakayama has received a total of 720,000 yen in donations from two companies involved in bid rigging, public documents showed Saturday. Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corp in Osaka donated a total of 480,000 yen on two occasions in October 2005 and September 2006, while Nippon Sharyo Ltd in Nagoya donated 240,000 yen in February 2005.
The Fair Trade Commission instructed 45 companies including the two in September 2005 to stop rigging bids for bridge construction projects after conducting on-the-spot inspections at some 40 firms in October 2004 on suspicion of violating the antimonopoly law. Nakayama’s Tokyo office said it did not know the companies were involved in bid rigging but is considering returning the donations to them. The land, infrastructure, transport and tourism minister has been under fire for gaffes he made shortly after taking office this week.

If they had said "we didn't know they were NOT BID RIGGING" I might believe it! How can they not know something that seems to party of the LDP manifesto?
