i'm lucky youpi but japan must change a lot of stupid law like this one. it's maybe the lone country where if your half you are a foreigner. it's so stupid. in a lot of country if your both parents are foreigner and you'r born in this country you have the nationality (france, us and other) or if one of your parents are from this nationality you have both parents nationality and you can choose at your 18 or 20. why japan is different? the next must be the re-entry permit because that is just escrocry. but japanese governement have no choice. as japanese couple don't make child, and japanese-foreigner child count will grow up if they dont change those stupid laws. after 20 or 30 years it will have only foreigner in japan.
No matter what Japan does there will be more foreigners in Japan in 20 or 30 years. Don't think anyone will argue that point.
Japanese law will change "naturally" as the population of people without Japanese citizenship increases. Democratic governments authority supposedly derives from the people. If a good portion of the population isn't represented then...

There are so many problems with the law, they'd be better off rewriting the whole damn thing then going about it piecemeal like this.
