If they can do this in 1 week, why can't they get fukushima sorted out?

Gogogo, because it doesn't have to deal with the control of power that they all want.

gogogo - because they (seem to) only care about their own petty squabbles.

    Dear Friends,

Before you make so many negative comments, please give some time for this new team to deal with all these issues... Lets have some faith in them... :) They will do it...

He's coming off as a shrewd negotiator by picking people nobody's every heard of before. It's good to bring in fresh blood. This "loach" might surprise us yet.

What's going to happen when a big one strikes Tokyo with the epicenter in Tokyo and a slew of buildings come crashing down and / or burn down?

I wish I could vote that comment down some some more. Who? Oh, you mean wisdom, humanity, selflessness, love and compassion? Those things are great and the only hope. Let's hope these politicians can muster even a little of these qualities and manifest it.

So, our new Finance Minister's only experience of finance is fiddling his expenses as an NHK reporter? As expected, a couple of Ozawa'a buddies are in senior positions too. We can only wait and see what happens.

Well, the next budget is 7 months away, that's at least how long they hope to survive.

some14some - sometimes the "BAAAAD" button gives me such satisfaction .....

Noda does have one heck of a job ahead of him - I give him less than 1 year before they start kicking him as well...

I will not pre-judge The Dojyo, he needs some space to give it a go. New people seems good. Don't trust Hosono, but Gemba is from Fukushima so let's wait and see.

Gotta love Japan! Where else would people in their 40s still be considered "youth"?

while analysts said his choices were aimed at appeasing factions rather than building on individual experience.

Ho hum. Business as usual for Japan. The DPJ swept into office a couple of years ago on a pledge of change and having politicians run the government, not the bureaucrats. Now they look and act just like the LDP did for over fifty years. Not encouraging.

if he had really wanted to shake things up he would have picked a lot of people from the LDP too.
