Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said Sunday he will attend the summit of the Group of 20 (G20) nations on June 18 and 19 in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Noda had been undecided about attending the summit until opposition parties and the ruling Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) agreed last Friday to start talks on bills to reform tax and social security.
The talks are expected to wrap up later this week. Noda said he hopes the bill will be voted on in the lower house by Friday. The current session of the Diet ends on June 21.
Noda is also likely to make an official announcement on the date for restarting the Oi nuclear reactors before he heads to Mexico.
The G-20 summit will focus on promoting sustainable economic growth.

Japan's sovereign debt problem has been addressed by the G20 members in the past a couple of times, Japan needs to come up with a solution (tax hike or fiscal consolidation plan) this time when attending the meeting. .

Get ready for Noda to promise more of your money to other nations for their development while demanding tax increases in Japan because there's no money available domestically.

@smith, you are right on. G20 is very useless. They are bunch of takers without any solution to their own. They are only good for photo session and hand shaking. They cannot produce anything, NADA!

Don't forget that Japan will demand free trade, as long as they get to chose what markets are open (technology open, cars open, food not, like always). And all the other countries will just sit back and nod but not really care.
