Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda will hold a Diet debate with opposition party leaders on Feb 29.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said Thursday that Noda will hold a debate with LDP leader Sadakazu Tanigaki and New Komeito chief Natsuo Yamaguchi.

Topics expected to be on the agenda for debate are the planned consumption tax hike, social security reform and the revised plan to realign U.S. forces in Japan.
