  Yes there are one or two slaughter houses that have said they do and would inspect every animal. It's the slaughter houses that won't test. Remember the slaughter house in CA that had millions of pounds of hamburger recalled a few months ago? Remember the downer cows they were kicking through the slaughter house?

  When the supermarkets did open their markets earlier, then the first or second shipment had banned parts. Japan tried, US slaughter houses screwed up.

  sarge - yeah that's true. but if we didn't have to grow so much feed where 1/3 to half is used just to feed cattle, it's likely to be more tasty. Coming from a weekend BBQ I'm hardly any different, but looking at the so called food crisis, it's mainly by design due to demand of beef, not because we can't grow enough food. Just that we're now at a choice. We're growing so much as a population that we're also diminishing the possibility of future beef. Either other foods or meat. It's looking like we can't have both. Hopefully this works out somehow.

  Japan and Korea need to find away to provide safe food for their populations,monsanto chemical induced cows are not good!. Remember you are wath you eat! Off course Bush and Rockefeller do not eat this meat. They have special! meat, made for them. Perfect! beef, not virus infected food. These corecions to get people of the world to be interlocked in a British and American Global food network to control their food supplies. If you japan is interlocked in a global money network controled by Banks outside of Japan they will always be cleaned out, if Japan allows it food to be under British and American control they will always be under threat and intimidation. Now you see what they are doing with food and oil, now through their control. You see what they did by causing huge loses at Japanese banks. These are not coincidences but Global monopoly exacting global control over every country in the world through food, oil and banking.

  Nonsense ! Plants and vegetation are the number one contributor to green house gasses ! That is a fact ! sf2k, you know very little about farming. Fact is, everytime a crop is turned, the fields are burned. This alone creates more smoke, haze, and pollution than any grass fed cattle ranch could imagine. And don't get me started on how many of your bogus stats are based on farting cows either. Bunch of nonsense ! Now get out there folks, fire up the bbq and enjoy a slab of beef ! You wanna curb co2 ? Get after the likes of China, Japan, India, etc ! there's where your real problems lie !

  The feed used for livestock is comprised of not only grain but also secondary by products of processed crops and other plant materials, most of which can be considered waste and obviously not fit for human consumption.

  And that is the BEST you can do attack the messenger and not the message. But I guess the USA is free off all Food-scandals and the international media is making it all up same with Discovery channel, etc.

  Sorry, very weak. I NEVER said that japan was perfect, they are trying as I think your country is too.

  Either refute my post with counter-proof(links, etc) or get out of the argument, IMO. Personal attacks are usually the last resort of people in an argument that can no longer prove their point.

  Let me put it to you this way - if you have the security clearance of personnel files, come to my neighborhood and scan the immediate area. In this type of environment, you can pick up good info. Correction: "A US Agency biological/medical team....".

  It is called free trade. Like if Japan wants its cars, TVs, steel bought then maybe they should open the door for US beef. It is a two way street.

  Plus, all the recent cases about japanese mislabeling or expired products on the market proves that nothing is really 100% safe.

  You have to look up my posts as "apec_net". As I stated, up until 4-5yrs ago, they loved to talk to me, and I love to post it on the Internet. It is a "symbiotic relationship", and they did talk about this "bse beef issue" before it became a point of contention.

  I urge Obama to shut up and realise that he's just told his first whoppa by stating US beef is safe! He should also take a lesson in cultural understanding and know that Japan has made it clear, we do not want tainted beef. Sorry if your market is suffering from it America, but Japan gave you several chances to clean up your beef, and you took the piss so suffer the consequences and don't try to bully your products onto the market here!

  waaaWTF YOUDONTKNOW...ironic as it sounds, you really dont have a clue.. are japanese beef safe?.. there was an outbreak here of MADCOW.. did you seem to FORGET that, also all the japanese taking trips abroad, what the hell do they eat..only noodles....none of them ate BEEF...BULLS@%$...Japan needs to stop with that crap....do you KNOW that japanese beef is NOT enough to feed you OVERCONSUMING people. China has banned japanese beef import due to the past case with madcow, some guys were arrested for trying to sneak it in as seafood(lol)..so , if you really dont wanna eat USDA prime then go out there and eat japanese beef.. BTW japanese beef is a cross breed of AMERICAN ANGUS anyway.. go figure it out and then get into the "KNOW" bracket
