71% of who? Teenagers? Voters? Foreigners? People who have no idea who Aso is? Japanese politics should go in the entertainment section. let the revolving door spin!

71% of people polled: Aso sama, you need to resign.
Aso: Nantonaku, no I won't.
71% of people polled: Awww, that's not fair. Please?
Aso: Nantonaku, not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

And will the government listen to its constituents? Hell, no... so long as they can't vote directly.

Unbelievable there's still almost 30% who apparently think he's doing OK. This is also an Asahi poll, so it would be interesting if another more right-leaning newspaper like the Yomiuri or Sankei did it; I suspect the numbers supporting Aso and the LDP would be higher. Sad.
1,044 eligible voters isn't a very big sample at all, and then with no margin of error, how useful is this survey, actually? I'm still a bit surprised that the percentage who want him out isn't higher.

How many more articles are there going to be about how people don't like Aso and his cabinet anymore? Or about how he's failing so terribly?
Everyday now, is it? One a day until April?

"who will take over?"
How about Mino Monta?

Mino Monta wouldn't want the job. Not enough TV time.
Aso is no more than a placeholder until September. The LDP didn't want to put any of their more viable personalities in the PM position only to be stigmatized as the one who lost power to the DPJ in the next elections. And there's no way in the world Aso will resign or call early elections. The LDP will hold on until the last possible second.

Interestingly, the Daily Yomiuri carried the same story.

How do we know the other 21% didn't want him to climb to the top of Rainbow Bridge and line his shoes up on the way down?

Wow, I am waiting for the PM Aso numbers to go to the Mori level of less than 10% support. Even if that mullet did not get such high numbers calling for him to resign however.
The LDP is toast. They have been in power for far too long.
