How did we get a Catholic PM in the first place?

  • NuckinFutz at 02:24 PM JST - 14th March

He should apologize for the drunken antics of his foreign ministry group!

The pope was an honourable man in his yopunger days. He has lost his way, with his meeting with Aso and his blinks with Israel.

He does not do teh job according to the acceptable manner.

I don't know why he meets Aso, he don't act very Christian does he?

Albert, the Pope was forced to join the Nazi Youth at 14 years old because it was mandatory. He missed as many meetings as he could get away with. He left early to study for the priesthood. He was inducted into the German army and later deserted. A mentally ill cousin was murdered by the Nazis. His family was anti-Nazi. The Pope was not a Nazi and he was never a fan.

His Holiness is a forgivin' man up to a point, I'm sure.

How can you say the pope was an honourable man? He was in the Nazis.

So was Oskar Schindler, Hannah Reitsch and Wernher von Braun. The Nazi party was a political party, and not all members were bad. Not all agreed about treatment of Jews, and very few even knew about the death camps.

Moderator: Readers, the pope's life as a young man has no relevance to his meeting with Aso.

The last meeting between ... the late PM Keizo Obuchi ... the late Pope John Paul II.

Oh, that doesn't look good. Seems when Japanese PMs meet Popes, they both become "late" not long after. Hope Aso and Benedict XVI have good life insurance.

I wonder why Pope wishes to meet Aso? Aso has a completely different world from Pope's. Aso does not believe Christ.

  • smithinjapan at 09:53 PM JST - 14th March

Why on earth would the pope want to come here?
