    After reinstating the taxes, Fukudas plan to use the funds for purposes other than road building will be quietly forgotten.

    Did anyone see the news Sunday where a bunch of men in black suits were out protesting for HIGHER taxes. How hilarious! Does Japan really need more roads and will the Japanese people vote anyone who votes yes for the increase out of office??? Doubt it!

    They should cut down on waste and corruption before they reintroduce this tax.

    It's ironic to see the public queuing up at gas stands, they should be queuing up outside the Diet demanding to know where all the money is going.

    If so the DPJ will have squandered a good opportunity to change that. They shouldn't have thrown their toys out of the pram and sulked.
