Common sense shown by all three leaders - they have more to gain by keeping relations good and more in common by keeping their economies interlinked, especially China.

And amazingly, Aso didn't day anything to PO the others.

And as for East Asia being an engine of growth - read "we've got the biggest foreign reserves, so we'll start making more of the rules."

Unity = a small train, China: locomotive pulling two carts: Japan and Korea. anyway, 'in business nobody is your friend'!

    To Some14some:

Your statement, "in business nobody is your friend" is very pessimistic. My view is, "in business everybody is a friend up to a certain point, and one NEVER forgets a favor given by a friend".

As long as China still remains a "developing" country whjose economic growth has been fued by exports alone, all the foreign reserves it holds doesn't make it any kind of economic locomotive. If thisglobal recession were to last say 10 years, both Japan and SKorea would still be there. All bets would be off as to where China would be then.

This meeting took more than 60 years later. It's a great achievement just have 3 head of the country meet for the first time officially. Although, the process will be difficult, even small progress ( steps) will be positive.
