Call for elections, vote LDP and put an another inept politician as Prime Minister!

Politics rock here. It is always the same old juk and the same old people.

And the passive people will still do nothing just like in the US from 2000-2008. If any individual was giving 19% for effort or had an approval rating of 19% they would have been out of their job instantly. Only the people controlling countries are exempt from this. WOW!

If PM Aso thinks the LDP would lose in an upcoming election, it may be best to cut a deal w/ the DPJ to have some LDP representation in the next cabinet. If I had a recommendation, I would lean toward securing the Finance and another powerful portfolio. An acceptable sharing of power would be better than being powerless to commit to any policies, and given the current global climate, having a strong Japanese Govt. would be good for the country. It may be time to let go. I would lean toward former Sec-Gen Kato in that Cabinet. I am a casual observer of Japanese politics. I still have an opinion regardless of the consequences.

No obama like politician in japan to support, so another LDP bore/PM Aso, same stuff will be administration for Japan.

More educated japanese should enter politics like America's Obama and bring changes. Mind you, even in America, they only change is Obama.

Well I wonder what the rich, historical, and powerful bureaucrats that run Japan will do to install the next puppet Government? I am sure Ozawa will tow the line if they approach him with tons of cash. Any vote will render the same outcome. Whats needed is a revolution. The Bureaucrats have to go....French revolution style.

Japan needs to change from electing leaders from wheeling and dealing smoke-filled back rooms. Direct election of top government officials is neccesary.

the system in the US was dead from the neck up the last few years, but in the great majority of the last 200 years its worked perfectly.

IF japan changes to national elections, the leader also needs a long term mandate of at least 4 years to implement some sort of long term agenda. Here, they are always looking behind their backs because they could be out of the job in an instant. That leads to political bickering, lack of a "good" consistent policy and lost opportunities.

    Man, 19% is so low.

The Japanese society/culture doesnt allow it. Political mobility is very low in Japan.

Quite right. It's a game for rich kids, specifically ones that inherit constituencies from their fathers.

The embarrasing LDP post war era comes to an end. Say hi to DPJ.
