Only in Japan are two people are at fault. What about a few years ago when the American sub sank a ship. In Japanese eyes, both boats would be at fault. Seeing the Japanese boat back then could have moved. (It's not like they didn't have fishing radar or anyway to not see this huge sub rise out of the water. Same story but this time Japan is at fault. Love to see Karma at work

The major problem in that region is the Senkaku Islands that is legally belong to Japanese side, but Chinese and Taiwanese for finacial reasons claim that those islands are belonged to their countries. Both Taiwan and China should never invade the border line of Japan.
Taiwan, Republic of China, is the country who accepted Japan's formal surrender after WW2 and forgived Japan for guilty of war! please read history sometimes.
"Taiwan, Republic of China, is the country who accepted Japan's formal surrender after WW2 and forgived Japan for guilty of war! please read history sometimes."
This true. Which is all the more reason for Taiwan's government not to behave like the Chinese ultra nationalists, the ones who have the missles
pointed at Taiwan.
Japan must think they will implode if the word sorry ever leaks out of their collective mouths, even if accidentally. I think if they imploded that is what they'd regret most, and so Japan is always thinking about regrets instead instead of apologies.
"who have the missles pointed at Taiwan"
It seems this planet is really a dangerous place. Japan got at least Russia, N Korea & maybe China's missles pointed at and no words heard, no doubt US got even more ones' missles attention and also no words heard, no mention to tiny and weak Taiwan~
Japan has apologized to china over 17 times according to CNN.
Deliberately refusing to accept an apology just so that one can
keep harping about it is infantile and wins no friends.
This is something that the Chinese govt has realized hence the complete
turnabout in relations. How quckly they forget that Japan was sending China assistance and supplies just a few weeks ago.

Japan/Asia seem to confuse apology vs. lose face and show shame

japan never actually apologizes...they just say this or that incident was 'regrettable'

Ossan: good point, what exactly does Taiwan gain by antagonizing Japan over this issue. I'm starting to think the KMT is full of PRC stooges.

I think that's far better than "No we don't regret it and we'll do it again "
