Japn will bolster their relationship with Taiwan at the expense of their relationship with China and hopefully the USA will find something to do elsewhere
"Japn will bolster their relationship with Taiwan at the expense of their relationship with China and hopefully the USA will find something to do elsewhere"
Both Japan and the US are allies of Taiwan with an unspoken understanding
between the United States and Taiwan that has kept your beloved PRC from
invading Taiwan for over 50 years. During that time Taiwan, without control or influence from China has become a highly advanced developed nation that stands as an example of a succesful democracy in East Asia.
However, It's easier to say it than to do it.
Japan set up deplomatic relationships with China and broke off with Taiwan in 1970, and the US did the samething in 1978. So nobody can complaint whatever Taiwan want to do. On the other hand, Taiwanese is also the most important one during China's modernization and more than 1.5 million Taiwanese work in China today. Taiwanese are also Chinese, we may one day reunify again if we think it's good for us!
Anyway, Taiwanese should thank Japanese and American's assistence during Taiwan's 1950~70 modernization period. That's also history cannot be neglected ~
Know the history of this area: Know thw Taiwnese are more technologically educated than the Chinese, while China has the greater reserrve of manpower that need jobs and the two nations could work well together. Also know the USA and China have been alliws since the early 30's when our China Marines were fighting the Japanese in China long before WWII began, Know also that Cairo Accords of 1943 took Taiwan from the Japanese and allowed the Chinese under Chiang Kai-shek to seek refuge on Taiwan to escape the Communist Army of China and the Chinese on Taiwan wrecked havoc on the Taiwanese that became known as 10 10 day when the streets ofTaipei ran red with the blood of the Taiwanese. Know also that Japan is trying to reclaim all the lands taken from them under the Cairo Accords - THINK ON ALL THIS BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE KNOW ALSO I AM AN OLD MAN WHO LIVED ALL THAT I RELATED ABOVE.
Don't make people misunderstand Japan. It's because I know Japan a little bit so I believe the majority of Japanese don't even image what you think, you maybe got deep gap with youngsters in Japan today~
I'm a Taiwanese and I love Taiwan and I don't think you are friendly to us. I concern about Taiwanese future and you don't. anyway, I respect your choice and also I need to say: I didn't critcize anyone~
BTY, please read some Taiwan history and birthday of ROC before you talk about it...... i can only suspire but comment after i read your so called history....

Well, that was duly resoloved by Tokyo issuing quick apology + compensation and unconditional release of the captain.
