Terashima proposes establishing a new global order that places more importance on international organizations

The countries with the most power (military and/or economic) generally are not willing to allow other countries to control their use of that power. This is shown by the fact that the permanent members of the UN Security Council (i.e., the major powers in the world at the time the UN was created) made their participation in the UN contingent upon being given veto authority so that the organization could never exercise any control or authority over any of them. A more recent example is the refusal of the United States to submit to the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court.

Thus, the creation of any "new world order" will have to wait until there is a threat so large to all of the countries with strong militaries and/or strong economies that each of them agrees that cooperation, even at the price of a loss of autonomy, is in its best interest.

Ok this guy is right on one point. The US policy has failed (It failed the day it began, but that is another topic). A new policy is required. And opening dialogue to achieve that is a great idea.

But it makes me nervous any time someone starts talking about "New Global or World Orders." This phrase has never brought good things in its wake. Look at Hitler's new world order. Or either of the Bush family's new world orders.

Maybe what we really need is a little less New Global Order and a little more common sense thinking by leaders with a little more foresight and intelligence.

He's not on point at all! In fact he couldn't be further from the point! Does he seriously think Japanese officials have anything worthwhile to take to the table? At least this gave me a good laugh for the morning!

a chance for major powers to discuss how to establish a new global order in the wake of the failure of the United States to settle things by force.

The major powers are not countries. The major powers are the filthy rich families who rule this planet and it is their money that pulls the strings, not 'elected' officials. Maybe it's time to connect the dots - it's why there is so much scare mongering and manufactured problems going on right now, especially with the war of terrorism, the hike in the price of oil, the food 'shortage', global warming, and so on.

There is a push for a global govt. and G8 is only one small cog in the machine. Divide 'n rule and order out of chaos is the name of the game. It is at times like this when people freely give up their rights in exchange for 'protection' from the very same people who are pulling this cr@p. Don't believe me? Just think of the new restrictive laws like the patriot act that were brought in immediately after 911 and 7/7, or other protections like the Bill of Rights or the Constitution which are slowly being shredded. (Just a goddamn piece of paper I think were Bush's words.)

Actually, taikan, just noticed you got the more appropriate quote with the emphasis on 'international organizations'.

I disagree with you on this part though Thus, the creation of any "new world order" will have to wait until there is a threat so large to all of the countries with strong militaries and/or strong economies that each of them agrees that cooperation, even at the price of a loss of autonomy, is in its best interest.

The very reason there is so much strife and division is to bring in this new world odor. The loss of autonomy is exactly what these people want. The world is being broken up into blocs. First the EU (that is why there was so much hanging on the Irish vote with the Lisbon treaty.) They have already got a North American Union (NAU) in the works with the Amero being the future currency for Canada, the US and Mexico. If you hadn't heard about it or have trouble believing me you could do a youtube search on "Lou Dobbs" and NAU.

Weedkila, notwithstanding anything that Lou Dobbs (or any other commentator) may say, there is no chance of a North American Union that goes much, if at all, beyond NAFTA. Although gaining control of (or even getting greater access to) Mexico's oil reserves and Canada's water, timber and mineral resources might be viewed by some people as being in the best economic interests of the United States, it certainly won't be viewed that way by the citizens of Mexico and Canada. It also would be strongly opposed by all those US citizens who are so concerned about the flow of (currently illegal) immigrants from Mexico into the US.

there is no chance of a North American Union that goes much, if at all, beyond NAFTA.... It also would be strongly opposed by all those US citizens who are so concerned about the flow of (currently illegal) immigrants from Mexico into the US.

I understand your thinking and I hope you are right but from my travels on the net I see it panning out differently if the situation continues as it is.

    A few points to consider:

Illegal immigrants (some of whom may be 'terrorists') are allowed to flood across the Mexican border yet security at air and sea ports is excessive to the point of paranoia. Why is this?

Why is a private corporation (the Fed) being allowed to print money out of thin air and charge people huge amounts of interest which puts them further into debt? That is interest that doesn't exist in the system -- only the principal is in circulation -- so that means you also have bankruptcy built into this scam. Hard to believe I know, but true. (Google "Money as debt.")

The US is being pushed toward a depression, bankruptcy and eventually, martial law. This is by design and will affect people in all countries unless US citizens start waking up to the big picture. Things are pretty much in place for a clamp down and there are already something like 800 camps set up for people who resist (Google "Rex 84"). No one in their right mind would believe these camps have been built for illegal aliens.

FEMA CONCENTRATION CAMPS: Locations and Executive Orders

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA..... The camps all have railroad facilities as well as roads leading to and from the detention facilities. Many also have an airport nearby. The majority of the camps can house a population of 20,000 prisoners. Currently, the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately 2 million people.

I don't necessarily agree with everything David Icke says but I recommend the following if you want to know how things work. He spelt out the situation brilliantly at this press conference a couple of days ago.
