It would be nice if they could develop positive relations at the municipal level between Beijing and Tokyo, in spite of the crap that his happening between the national governments.

Certainly a lot more sensible in his attitude than his predecessor Ishihara, who managed to stoke this pot to its current boiling pot. However, one hopes he is not having a Neville Chamberlain moment...

One mayor of Tokyo, Ishihara, destroyed relations between Japan and China. Maybe another mayor of Tokyo can put them together again. Now I wish I had voted for Masuzoe.

Tokyo Governor : Trip will be of " great significance ". Abe says : Obama's visit was a " historical success ". But everyone knows these will be/are great failures. With Abe and his clowns around the circus will be fun to watch.
