U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos visited the devastated Fukushima Prefecture coastal region on Monday. Last year, Roos visited Miyagi and Iwate prefectures but this was his first visit to Fukushima Prefecture.
The U.S. envoy laid a wreath on the shore at Iwaki city. He said the U.S. will continue to do whatever it can to help with the recovery effort, NHK reported.

His personal commitment for the Tohoku including Fukushima has been well recognized. by many Americans while most Japanese politicians still do not have a map how to get up there. He really cares. Thanks.
