It's absolutely cold-blooded to NOT meet with the families of father's and mothers who had their children abducted by Japan. It's as if, we are paying taxes for services that are going to Japanese.
It's Japan's government that has the responsibility to discuss these issues.
Now if YuriOtani and VoiceofOkinawa will back me up on this that would be great. Both have you expressed an interest in removing the .U.S from Japan's affairs.
Positive relations are necessary for the stability of this region. However for most parents who have had their children abducted the Embassy's standard respond is "This is a personal problem and the Embassy cannot get involved"
For those Japanese families "This is a personal problem and MY country should not get involved" unless you are willing to sign the Hague. Practice what you preach first.
