Why do Japanese news agencies call Burma "Myanmar"? No doubt to keep the military regime happy for economic reasons - don't ruffle any feathers there. When those tyrants are overthrown, hopefully their chosen name of Myanmar will be erased from geography books everywhere. Yet, to this day Japanese media - and most of the people - still refuse to call the capital of China "Beijing". It was laughable last year when the "Beijing 2008" logo was behind the Japanese TV olympic presenters, yet they would say "Peking Olympic!"
