Why would they ever think about letting China in. Its an informal group created by the US so that it could better work with its allies to "manage" their economies. About 22% of American exports go to Canada and 5.5 to China. Its not a UN style global group, its a "Friends of America" group. There is no question that China has a very important role in the American economy but their lack of willingness to adjust their currency and balance out trade with the US indicates that in these troubling times they are willing to do nothing to help the US. Canada, on the other hand will generally cooperate with the US on all economic matters. If the US, for example asked other countries to intervene in interbank lending China would just shrug but Canada would comply. Size does not matter, the willingness to cooperate with American economic interests does matter. Mexico, yes; China, no.

G8... a depised group in the world

China has no whatsoever intersted to join the G8. For China's interests G8 was an enemy org. than stood on her way and must be removed. Our leaders never gives a mere cares about talks or mprale standard they set! It was just a games for suckers! What can the G* doing to PRC when they are annoyed by China's recent happens like under valuing her currunecy and lecturing lessons in Tibet. Nothing definately nothing. All those capitalists in those G7 wants to get bigger trades with China. We hold the world's largest foreign currency! For us, G7 was totally ignorable. They had been calling Beijiang to state clear about her military purpose, it was treated just like junk mails..... There were more than 100 third world countries and they all hates G7 but supporting China in United nations, it was definately no need to feel sad about that 'fancy little world'. Not in my name!

China will replacing US to be the world number one military and economy power, we earned trillion and trilliob dollars through trade with the west. China shall never nver comply with any responsibilities over the world. Chinese leaders has their own calculations, we believes this world is part of China not China is part of this world. The G7 has never achieving any meaningful helps to the world, this is world known how nortorious it was when a little club med under an unqualified leaderships!

It was a dream that someone believes China will comply US leaderships, Chinese leaders values a matter ion terms of power instead of rules. The article is not complete. Sarkozy was talking as the president of EU not only France. It means an economy, population, market bigger than the US. G7 was a way for the three leaders big economic center to meet each other. US and UK/FR/GER/IT and Japan. 70% of the economy of the world at this time. Problem is two major things have changed. EU and China rising. The Europeans have a strong currency and integrated 27 seven countries wich has a huge potential for the future and I am not talking about the new countries waiting to come. China is one of the future big player. Japan is an important member but EU, China and US should be in the club. And if US refuses, fine. But EU might take China side sometime so it would better for the US to negotiate now that you cannot take world decision by your own.

But if China behaves like you do, it won't go well.

China is nothing compared to EU-US-JAPAN.
Today or tomorrow it's not gonna change. The western world is far bigger in every aspects than China (including population my friend), just accept it. So it would be a lot better to deal with us than to go to conflict.

And so far the most enthusiast economist have predicated China to reach US in the best case (as they expected Brazil to do the same in the 90 s BTW). This is 90% of EU today...

And trust me any nation in this world think that the planet is its only property...

Do you guys know why an unnnecessary org. like G7 was formed?

Because America was a hateful targets for most of the world the third worls countries especially and there were 100 plus these countries blashings US everything. Uncle sugar hates the united nations because it was a court put her on TRAIL and very embrasssing.Thats why a 'YES'only forum was required to boost her images and SAVING her face,an honour that she never deserved to have!Everyone just say YES, clapping hands after uncle sugar's speech at the end of conferences and the facts of this endangered world will be neglected!It was whose's faults that lead this world at the blink of doomsady?

Why did the oil prices goes sky rocketing? Because the huge stragetic deposit of US and those six little puppets sucking most of the world's oil Why did the globe is warming? Because the huge emissions of carbon dioxide cause by US Why did the people in Iraq living in miserables? Because US occupations of Iraq permanently

All of these and a lot of WHY were unheard and never asked..because the G8 forum was a show to portraying this world looks good under US leaderships. By the way, the G7 conferences was an exclusive clubs for those 'High society'nations only. Why inviting some nations who were not regarded as this category? Because the reputations of G7 was HATEFUL around the world and they need some guests to make it looks nice is that simple. The purpose of holding G8 was a propaganda purpose to fool this world that humanity does exists inside those most wealthy states!

G8 membership shouldnt solely be based on economics. How about its societal development? If these are supposed to be leading countries than they have to lead in all categories not "just money". Once again a group that puts the importance of money ahead of the importance of people.

Because OPEC is a cartel and most Western nations are anti-cartel.

I think the G-8 is fine the way it is (in terms of membership), b/c you can't kick out Russia or anyone for that matter, and if it gets any bigger it starts to become more pointless
