    How true. Japan is a tripwire for any attack on the US from Pacific side, just as Europe is a tripwire for any attack on the US from the Atlantic side.

    How does Shieffer know that? Did Obama phone him already? My guess is that

    1. Shieffer will be looking for a new job soon

    2. Japanese access to American markets will be deeply affected by the recession

    3. Obama will have a very different view of the goons in the LDP here and

    4. Also a very different view on military deployment in Japan.

    So let's see.
