Nancy, for the sake of all intelligent American's living in Japan, just stay away from us and keep your idiocy back in San Francisco and D.C.

HAHA! Well put. I guarantee you that by all means, this woman does not represent whatsoever, the beliefs or morals of the majority of Americans. She is way out of touch!

"Pelosi will fly to Hiroshima... she will lay flowers at a monument dedicated to atomic bomb victims"
That's all well and good. I wish the president of the U.S. would do the same, and I wish the prime minister of Japan would go to Hawaii and lay some flowers at the monument dedicated to the victims of Pearl Harbor.
Welcome to Japan, Ms. Pelosi.

I think bone and hitemup are proving they are 'the not so intelligent' Americans in Japan. I believe the fact that Pelosi is the highest ranking official to visit Hiroshima shows that she represents something that any real intelligent American should, "compassion and humanity".

I don't think they have anything against her or any member of the US government visiting Hiroshima. It's Nancy Pelosi and who she is that they have issues with, not where she happens to be visiting in Japan.
So she had an extra day in her travel itinerary to kill. Big deal...

Another historic first for the Democratic Party. The first woman Speaker of the House in US history and the highest serving dignitary to visit Hiroshima. A member of the first party to place an American of African descent on the presidential ballot.
If she doesn't -- and I don't agree with you on your point -- then a majority of Americans need to hang their heads in shame. Ms. Pelosi's about equal justice and opportunity for all people.

I dont particularly agree with Nancy Pelosi's opinions but to me that's, to sound like CHina, an internal matter for Americans. A person of her rank laying flowers at Hiroshima should be seem from a diplomatic point of view and the fact that we (The United States) can do this, and admittedly that Japan accepts this, really goes to show how far our alliance and shared democratic values have come over the the last 65 years. I agree with Sarge that at some point not too far in the future, I would not be surprised to see a US President doing what Nancy Pelosi is doing, and a Japanese PM laying flowers at the Pearl Harbor Memorial as well.

Why Hiroshima?
Nancy why are you spending time in Japan when America needs you?
Surely you will stop in Nanjing, China on the way back to explain how you asked the Japanese government to apologize for the Nanjing?
" Live burials, mutilation” death by fire", "death by ice", and "death by dogs", a killing contest amongst a group of Japanese soldiers to determine who could kill the fastest, one of the greatest mass rapes in world history." Estimated that the number of women raped ranged from twenty thousand to as many as eighty thousand and stated that women from all classes were raped, including Buddhist nuns. Furthermore, rape occurred in all locations and at all hours, and women both very young and very old were raped. Not even pregnant women were spared, and after gang rape, Japanese soldiers "sometimes slashed open the bellies of pregnant women and ripped out the fetuses for amusement”. Not all rape victims were women, Chinese men were sodomized and forced to perform repulsive sexual acts. Some were forced to commit incest—fathers to rape their own daughters, brothers their sisters, sons their mothers.
So Nancy. In between trashing the China government along with some other ignorant U.S. politicians maybe you should rethink your trip and travel to China and make amends for your comments towards China which many Chinese people are pretty unhappy about. Many politicians seem to think it is pc to craft China as the scapegoat for the U.S. economic downturn. That is what Hitler did with the Jews in Germany if you recall World History in high school.
I think making Japan a seat of peace and soothing their pain from Hiroshima is in very bad taste when Japan will not apologize to China for Nanjing and many other atrocities in World War II. Think about that.
Nothing wrong with America saying we are sorry for bombing you. But why reward a culture that will not apologize for its own atrocities?
