The first poll means little, especially in Japan.

Give him half a year, and we'll see his "real" popularity or, rather, the typical Japanese tendency to get bored with their leaders quickly.

A year later, who knows, we might see Mr Aso move to his old house again!

Kind of surprising results really, the percentage in favor should be much, much higher considering the poll was taken in Abe's home district.

He should have gotten 100%, but since that would have been too high the people who took the poll had to play with the results to get an acceptable number that makes Abe "look" good but still have room for improvement.

That's about par for the course for new Japanese PMs. So is a dramatic drop in popularity and being out on your backside within a year or so.

His popularity will go down in a year or so.

Just like all the former prime ministers.

His popularity will take a whole year to drop?...maybe 3 to 4 months methinks.
