See, this is the best news I have had since I turned on the internet today. I was hoping for a buyer and it looks like someone is FINALLY taking this seriously. I was about to give up and just send my copy back too! Thanks JT!

What about using the money for another good cause. Say the costs involved in extraditing a certain suspected sex offender to his trial in a certain Scandinavian country.

On the black market the TPP document would go for considerably more than $100K. Still, good this is a good strategy for cajoling the government to be more transparent regarding the likely costs and benefits of the agreement.

I'm no fan of Assange at all, but this can only be a good thing for Americans.

What kind of democracy passes far reaching treaties on trade, banking and internet usage in secret? The closed-door nature of the TPP is a disgrace. What's worse, is that so many Americans are fine with Washington government passing secret bills. I'm surprised they haven't used the word "freedom" in naming this bill, too.

I think it's a jolly good thing that it IS secret.

I mean, what do we know about these complicated and involved matters of trade?

Nothing, I mean, what, well, I know I can't fathom it out. Maybe Jeeves can, but that's just because he eats so much fish.

I think we should just allow our leaders to do the best for us, as they always do.

as far as i know, the documentation covering TPP will be out for public comments in two months once negotiation completes and before it become official.

it seems good however that Wikileaks is playing in the background.

@ HongoTAFEinmate

Really? Do you not think there is a high chance Assange was framed because of Wikileaks.

Since when did top secret legislation become common practice in America? We should throw all of these idiots overboard before they sink the ship.

Its the same for the Europe agreement TTIP people in meetings of TTIP have to sign NDA that last 30 years,yeah when you sign soviet style agreements like that you cant help but wonder what really is going on. These secret bills are nothing but trouble.

@Sensato

Good point Sensato. Foreknowledge of what they are upto would be worth millions to the right parties.

I don't believe the reasons it is being kept secret are for the good of the majority, i.e. workers, either in the US or in Asia.

It is incredible that our governments are determined to sign this thing without publishing its contents. What happened to democracy?

@WilliB

According to the wonderful online Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition of democracy is as follows..

A form of government in which absolute power is concentrated in a dictator or a small clique

I would say that in fact, nothing has HAPPENED to democracy and it seems to be as it always has been no? The U.S., Japan and England have some of the BEST democracies EVAR!
