Yokohama mayor sued by ex-hostess for ending relationship

KANAGAWA —

A 30-year-old ex-hostess on Wednesday filed a suit at the Yokohama Regional Court, requesting Yokohama City Mayor Hiroshi Nakada pay 30 million yen compensation for breaking up with her in 2004.

The woman, who identified herself only as Nana, told a press conference that Nakada had an affair with her and proposed to her, although he is married. Nana says they broke up in 2004 but he started threatening her once the relationship became known to the public. Nana insisted she had suffered physical and mental suffering due to the stress stemming from Nakada’s threats.

Nana, who showed emails from Nakada to her mobile phone, said, “ Nakada often gave me presents, such as bouquets of roses. He treated me as if I were a princess.” She added that the Yokohama mayor used his official car to take her on dates.

In an official comment, Nakada said, “I will discuss the matter with my lawyer as soon as we receive the written complaint from the court.”

The case was initially reported by weekly magazine Shukan Gendai. Nakada has denied being in a relationship with Nana.

She should get the Best Skankist award. Cheat with a married man and you'll actually believe what he says. Duh, if he lies to his wife and cheats her he will you too. Hello mental giant.

Not only did he go after something so ugly as her, he PAID to go after something so ugly as her!!! Jeez, with such bad judgement, it makes you wonder how badly Yokohama's local government is spending money on other things!!

"the Yokohama mayor used his official car to take her on dates"

    He's an idiot.

Nessie: "They both need better taste in mem/women respectively. Case dismissed."

I hereby nominate Nessie to be a judge!

Nice! I like a (wo)man with guts. Take on these politicians who think they can get away with everything. Just spreading the news and starting the law suit will nicely dent the mayor's image. Someone elected to public office should know better than to try anything extra-marital. = = Nana ugly? Oh, no, it's the dismissal that is ugly.

In two months she will make her AV debut.

Take on these politicians who think they can get away with everything.

At first I thought you meant the alleged threats, which are criminal, and the alleged proposal he did not make good on, which is a civil violation I beleive, but at any rate illegal.

    But then you wrote this:

Someone elected to public office should know better than to try anything extra-marital.

Not illegal. It may go against your own personal morality, but it seems everyone was happy until the nibby moralists got the news. Then it got ugly.

I do not want nibby moralists in my government and I sure don't want people that nibby moralists will be totally happy with either. Frankly, nibby moralists can fall into a deep dark hole as far as I care. I much prefer to have politicians who know how to live than those bowing to stupid and useless morals and the moralizers who pimp them. I would rather have politicians who have flings than start wars too, and it so often seems to be the seemingly sexless ones who get people dead. Not always, but disproportionately often.

    Nana ugly? Oh, no

At least we agree on something. This might not be her best picture but I still like, and besides, none of us have seen the rest of her yet. A lovely figure can go a long long way.

She was unsuccessful at breaking up his marriage. And she wants to sue. Riiiiiiiight...

  • bebert at 06:59 AM JST - 27th December

He should have paid her off from the beginning or found someone else for her to latch onto instead of threatening the woman. Idiot. Now his family has to deal with more embarrassment and media attention.

He should have paid her off from the beginning

Maybe he tried and she just was not having it. Maybe she wanted more than he could afford. Maybe it was marriage or nothing. Maybe she just wanted her time in the spotlight.

    instead of threatening the woman.

Maybe she threatened him with going public before he threatened her?

I find it odd that she has the right to make this public at all. People's privacy in matters like this should be protected until its proven a crime was committed. Its just too easy for some hussy to tear someone down like this.

Of course he should not have threatened her in any case. But its not like society is going to treat him fairly if he doesn't, is it? All he has in his corner is himself. And she has nothing to lose and him everything.

In japan the wife has the right to sue the mistress. I think she's the one who's gonna get in a lot of trouble.

The mayor should resign for all this.

I'm sure she tried to extort some money from this, but the mayor wouldnt play ball. She's just coming through on her threats. She can say whatever she wants as long as its true.

Wait so what exactly about her lawsuit indicates she's suing for him ending the relationship? Is she actually suing because "He stopped treating me like a princess?" because that's what the article seems to indicate.

It really sounds like this is just a phony lawsuit designed to draw publicity - i.e. her own form of blackmail against Nakada. Ironic.

  • Triumvere at 11:07 PM JST - 28th December

Read it again. She claims he became threatening and abusive, vindictive after the relationship became public. Doesn't mean its true, of course...

  • bdiego at 03:31 AM JST - 29th December

I did read it, but the article specifically says she's suing for ending the relationship, not for threatening behavior. In fact, the article repeatedly insinuates this.
