maybe "i don't know" would be better option than "i don't care" (about a matter of world peace, etc)

wouldn't someone from a country with a better safety record be a more logical choice ?

Sorry, couldn't pick one, 888 is correct, there should be an "I don't know" option instead of "I don't care"

No, I think 'dont care' is fine. As the issue is energy, I think it would be good to have an awareness of energy that can be produced by human resource, versus science as a resource. Probably good he is Japanese, they have an awareness of both.

Energy isn't directly related to world peace. The IAEA is powerless to do anything is the signatory decides to withdraw from the treaty. Witness NK still going strong.

The IAEA is just a public face of the NPT Status Quo. Amano's appointment has as much political relevance as the issue of who should become the next Emperor of Japan

There is way too much of a conflict of interest. This appointment only serves liberal/communist objective, which is to prevent world peace by eradicating our best defense mechanisms.
