None of the above. There are others missing. Through having a president with Morgan Freeman's brilliant speaking voice and style would steady the world and endear him to people everywhere. But he would need a congress with a willingness to do good. And that is even more fantastic than his being president.

Peter Sellars in Being There would be better than any of these. He may have been simple, but he always had the best of intentions.

haha, this is a funny poll indeed. No doubt it will be harrison ford. He made the president seem really bad ass in that movie.

    Peter Sellers, gaijintrabeller is right.

Why isn't whatsisname from wag the dog (clinton parody) up there?

I was glad to see so many say, "none of the above". The reason for me, is that I barely know who any of them are! Hehehehehehe, I just do not like many movies - my toleration for what I don't like in video entertainment is pretty low. What about Hyacinth in "Keeping Up Appearances"? She might be a better president than what US has had in a while...

Bill Pullman as President Thomas Whitmore! : "Nuke 'em. Let's nuke the bastards."

Seriously though, why isn't Dennis Haysbert as 24's President David Palmer on this list?

    fivegogo2003-san,

    Where are the women presidents?

You're not suggesting that there should be an American Margaret Thatcher, are you?

    NO, PLEASE NO!

    NOT THAT!

I was going to suggest Prime Minister Hacker, in "Yes, Prime Minister."

But an Americanized version of that is pretty much what we've got anyway.

Obama is such a disappointment after watching 24's President David Palmer.

Bill Pullman's President Thomas Whitmore in Independence Day: "We're being exterminated" ( by the aliens )

I can imagine Obama saying this, but I can't imagine Obama saying, "Nuke 'em. Let's nuke the bastards."

    Pretty awful choices, really.

Serrano: "Obama is such a disappointment after watching 24's President David Palmer."

There were other presidents during 24's run as well, Serrano (two, to be exact). I noticed you picked Palmer ONLY to compare with Obama. Is it because they're both black and in your mind one black guy should think like the other?

Change, you beat me to it!

Yes, I was also going to say Dennis Haysbert who plays President David Palmer in 24. He looked great as a president.

You're implying that its racist to light-heartedly compare a TV character depicting the first black US president with the actual first black US president.... wow, it must take a lot of effort to be that politically correct.
