Yes of course, Obama set an admirable precedent that one would hope all subsequent US Presidents might continue

Yes because Trump has no their there. He has to get a clue about what he wants to subject people too.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

As long as he doesn't say something boorish.

I read the first nine words of the question and voted No.

Then I read to the end and there was no change in the way I would vote.

As long as he doesn't say something boorish.

You may as well say, As long as the sun doesn't rise in the East and set in the West.

Where's the "I couldn't care less" option?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

No. What good could it do ?

"I think, for me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me." Donald J. Trump

CaptDingleheimer,

You took the words out of my mouth. My vote would have been, "Who cares?"

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I don't like seeing him anywhere, anytime.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

This kind of thing isn’t really suited to him.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I would.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

As long as he doesn't say something boorish. hed say something like, "we come here today to pray for the souls of the dead, they shouldn't have attacked the US in the first place , but it still hurts and we pray for them anyways"

As embarrassing as it would for him to come and say something stupid maybe it would be a good thing so more Japanese can see that he is terrible.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

he has not clue of what respect means, so better he stay away not to visit. am sure he does not want

to follow the foot step of obama, either from his jealousy or discrimination.

As long as he doesn't say something boorish

But that's his whole modus operandi.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No. In fact, I see no reason for the Donald to leave the U.S. unless it's to be sent to Devil's Island. Nothing positive will come from his visit to Japan. He will embarrass the U.S. further as he is incapable of doing otherwise.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Yes of course - what could go wrong?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

@Jeff

What has poor old Devil’s Island done to deserve that kind of treatment?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He would make it about him, and since Obama came and talked to the old people about making a non-nuclear world, Trump would want to undo it and talk about increasing nuclear weapons ten-fold "for protection", and say something moronic like, "You knew what you were signing up for, right?"

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I am 99% sure he would use a visit to Hiroshima to make reference to what NK will get if they upset him.  He would be totally thoughtless and cause hurt to the Japanese people.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

He'll be surprised by the level of destruction that was caused and use it to portray how great America is before telling Japan that as the first president to visit Hiroshima he'll do everything he can to make sure it never happens on American soil.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Not him, no.

Not enough tact. Not enough empathy or sensitivity.

I still can't believe he is the President of the United States....

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Actually I think Trump is very popular in Japan.

Where are you getting this from? The people I talk to definitely do not agree. That said, I only meet a certain type of people, so assuming that all Japanese people feel the way that the people I've talked to feel, would be confirmation bias, rather than an evaluation based on actual fact. I'm open to the possibility that trump is very popular here, but I'm doubtful of it, and would need more than 'the people I've talked to like Trump' to believe it to be true.

No. Keep him away. Repulsive man.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The question should be, would the peoples of these two great cities like to see him there?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He would just think that America makes the biggest bombs!!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'd rather he not visit, period.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Remind us again -- how many deferments did he have?? And he thinks he is now Commander-in-Chief ... pathetic.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yes. Could he please visit it at about 8:14 on August 6th, 1945. Cheers!
