Even experts say they never expected Mt Ontake to erupt. Unexpected incidents can occur at any time. Earthquakes, tsunami and eruptions occur all over Japan so it must not have nuclear power plants.

At what cost?

So long as the man-on-the-street realizes that as the yen continues to, and WILL continue to weaken, energy imports will only go up in price, which will put further weight on Japan's already sinking economy.

Koizumi is right!

Better get rid of those dams, oil refineries, and cities too...

Evacuate Japan!

Well, frankly Koizumi is right. The problem is not simply that disasters happen in Japan. The problem is that the so called experts choose to pretend the problem does not exist.

The byukurishita club is a big one in Japan. We have had the so called experts throw up their hands in surprise after every disaster. Fukushima is a prime example. Ontake was giving signs that it might be dangerous. A small word od caution was in order. Even a mild alert could have saved lives.

Errr easy for you to say now Mr Koizumi, you had your chance to do something about it!
