Facebook is a symbol of the party culture occurring in U.S. universities, with the objective of building one's personal network. Japanese people may feel slightly uncomfortable with it.

    If Nishida thinks U.S. unis have a "party culture", I wonder what he'd describe the 4 year sleep-in between high school and work they have in Japan?
