For Japanese, Thailand is an easy place to live. Unlike in China, there’s little danger in being pro-Japanese.

It is not pro-, it is anti-, which is the problem, Mr. Honda.

    It's also a lot cheaper!

More expensive than China to make things. And already lots of Japanese companies manufacturing there. Smile?

American business man there told me the white-collar Thais hate working for the Japanese. Coming home from the office by 6 and having dinner with the extended family is central to the culture. The Japanese don't respect that, and force them to work long hours and on weekends, keeping them away from their families and friends.

The Thais love working for western companies, though, which pay them more and treat them better.

Oh dear, it seems someone doesn't get the notion of anti and pro. This is also laughable when you look at Thailand's corruption. If anything, its the girlie bars that are enticing companies - I kid, I kid. Sort of.

Right you are, someone. I, on the contrary, was not even talking about Thailand.
