Try any democractic corporation / media that lauds ' freedom" of speech as one of its planks- - and there will be some stome-walling somewhere. . . .Because every corporation /media ( even JT) has a nerve you can't touch.

Good on him. Newspapers these days lack any accountability to anyone anywhere. I'm all in favor of a free press, but there should be some sort of accountability to someone.

Doctors, lawyers, psychologists, scientists... all other professionals have some sort of regulatory body and nobody cries "Help, help I'm being oppressed!!"... but journalists think they should be completely free of any oversight.

There should be some sort of regulatory body for journalists and newspapers.

There's a document out there claiming the origination of the comfort women issue was started by a reporter with the Asahi shimbun who had familial ties to one of the original "comfort women". He failed to reveal his ties to the person being interviewed and omitted many facts from his articles (like the fact that the woman had been sold to a Korean brothel by her parents before the IJA came calling at the brothel) that would have made the issue less clear.
