I have a simple calculation for life. When you see people in need, you have two choices, either you help or you don't. I have to help.
Quote of the Day ( 7 )
Chizuru Nakagawa, 36, who has worked 18-hour days to help rebuild Ogatsu since the March 11 quake and tsunami. Instead of just donating weekends, she moved there from Tokyo. (Los Angeles Times).

I help people whenever and wherever I can. But there are times when I am unable to help.
"rebuild Ogatsu"
In the same place where a tsunami wiped it out and another could wipe it out again?

I have volunteered in Ogatsu twice. Around 95% of the entire village was destroyed. Due to the natural shape of the mountains surrounding the sea inlet (like a funnel) the tsunami rose up to almost 20 meters. To see the damage with your own eyes and just how high the debris is located up the side of the surrounding mountains is just unbelievable.
Well done Nakagawa-san.

Keep up the good work, Nakagawa-san. I'm sure there are many who appreciate your efforts.

or able to live a meagre existence. You only need 1-2000 yen a day to live on if you have your accomodation paid for/living in a tent.
She's absolutely spot on with her comment though, you can either help or you can sit by and let others do it. Well done to Nakagawa-san, Tokyokawasaki and everyone else who has been involved in the clean-up/recovery/raised money/donated etc.
