Indeed. alternative is?

Serious issue? Or just the latest anti-nuclear media talking point and the usual FUD? Pretty safe bet would be to take the second choice, it's been the winning bet for 4 years and 5 months now.

Have no fear ... our daring leader Abe-san is in charge ... so nothing can go haywire ... can it? Moreover, "rusty operators" ... if they are rusty now ... what were they before?

Obviously does not understand the Japanese and how so much is practiced over and over again.

Fair comment from one of the former heads of the 'nuclear village'.
Most of the reactors will have had their fuel rods removed to cooling pools, and must now be reloaded and the pressure vessels reassembled, but operators will not have had recent experience of doing this, along with routine maintenance and procedures such as moving fuel rods around the reactor vessel to maximise the heat produced, and using the control rods.
