If the current situation continues, energy consuming industries cannot survive in Japan and they will leave. The immediate effect will be on employment.

Another scare tactic based on no evidence. The pro-nuclear power people are sneaks and liars. There is ample evidence for that.

Any Japanese company which pulls out of the country will certainly lose the domestic market. High consuming power companies, like huge DATA centers need to review their power efficiency and most will have no difficulty reducing it by 20% which can be sold back to the power companies. Many major companies have already installed some part of their own power generation from solar panels to air cooled gas turbines. Any power generated from renewable energies can also be sold to the power companies with the new FIT's. Even the gas turbines can run on biogas.
If nothing else, it's time for an energy and power revolution. 46% of primary energy imports is oil, most of it going to run internal combustion engines which in turn pollute our cities and environment.
These companies need to get with the program or leave.
