Japanese politics have been stagnant for about 40 years. That's what happens when the same party keeps getting voted in over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

The two-party system is a farce. It is a game played by almost every country in the world. It's goal is to divide the people into two groups, create issues which are dear to one side or the other, and tell them that if the one side gets it's way, the opposite side will be worse off. There is no DPJ or LDP, there is a single group of politicians who spar with each other for the cameras and papers for the benefit of their constituents, but who, in reality, work quite well together to rip off their constituents. The people in the two parties are so busy hating each other, they are completely distracted, allowing the politicians to loot and squander without being noticed.
The "outing" of politicians fundraising shenanigans, personal lives, and other dirt usually occurs to those politicians who threaten to rock the political boat. All of them have taken "loans", received kickbacks, or other favours, if they don't, they will not be allowed to get into office. A "clean" politician with no strings is a danger none of the others will ever permit, because he or she may not be able to be made "to see the light" on certain issues.

What a bunch of childish dolts. Meanwhile this foreign taxpayer will pay and pay and pay for very little in return.

Was going to comment then realized sangetsu has said all that is required here. Kudos

The good thing that could happen is that Abe and the LDP will get kicked out.

For once sangetsu I agree , and politics in every country is a dirty corrupt business, here it is even dirtier but they seem to think it is their right, heritage and their legacy.
