I'm afraid I'll abuse the child. I'm giving up my freedom for the kid, and if he doesn't do what I say I'll kick his ass.

Megumi, a woman in her mid-20s, who admits that while she wants to have a baby, she may not be a good mother. (Spa!)

An excellent self-diagnosis. If she feels likes this she definitely should not have any children. If her main priority is her 'freedom,' then at this stage in her life, whether she wants a child or not - she should not have one.

If more people thought deeply about having babies like this woman, there would be a lot fewer abused and murdered babies.

    Mods, this sentence

who admits that while she wants have a baby,

    needs a 'to' someplace, eh?

Moderator: It's been corrected, thank you.

I for one think kids need to listen more anyways. Perhaps a good ass kicking (or the real threat of one) is what kids need these days. Worked for me. I'm not advocating child abuse here. Merely a reset of the limits that once kept children from telling off their parents and misbehaving. A spanking in my day was not considered child abuse. Shouldn't be that way now either. I think people should wait until their 30s to have kids anyways. People in their 20s just don't generally have what it takes to rear younglings. Nothing against teens and twenteens, but they just don't usually have the selfless attitude that is required.

    The full story is here:

I love the reason why she wants to have the kid in the first place.

    Hit return twice for paragraphs.

    Keech2,

Take care of me when I'm old?!
What kind of a reason is that? Sterilize this woman!

I wonder what sort of a man would marry a woman with that attitude. She is probably looking for a sugar daddy.

    Thanks Borsht

    I really appreciate it!

Actually, "take care of me when I'm old" is more common of a reason than you might suspect.

I personally do not want children, and nearly every person who asks me about it inevitably follows it up with, "Don't you want someone to take care of you when you're old?"

If the only reason you have for wanting children is to have some slaves when you're geriatric, then you are probably a pretty awful person to begin with, and would most likely raise children who hated you. Good luck getting them to take care of you when you're old. :p

Keech, I thought your take on young Megumi was pretty harsh. Then I read the entire story. Yeah, I'm coming around quickly to your thinking.

    Mean Ringo,

"Perhaps a good ass kicking (or the real threat of one) is what kids need these days."

I would substitute "some parents" for kids.

No human rights! Children are also humans. They have the right to do whatever it wants. The mother should be put in jail if she harms it.

I read the whole story, I hope this lady does not have any kids. What is worse, some poor sap is going to marry her and consign himself to a world of misery. If she is only looking for someone that can take care of her, even though she knows someone she likes but he does not make enough, I can imagine the man that does land her. No wonder he will be a slave to the office and the late night stop for drinks at the local hostess bar.

In my opinion, she is just setting herself up to be one of those miserable old ladies, or pretty soon one who spends all her money on a dog.

    Taka,

Yeah, she's crazy. I felt more sympathy for the second woman mentioned in the article.
