It seems students have been told by their parents not to go to Japan, although they want to do so.

Yumiko Iizuka, an official at Sofia University in Tokyo, where about 10% of all students are from other countries. More than 4,300 foreign students have left Japan since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. (UPI)

    And in most cases parents pay the bills so there isn't much the students can do about it.

    That's really too bad. I studied there and think it was a great experience with lots of hands on classes and interesting discussions. Hopefully those who have the means to support themseleves will still go.
