It would take a long time for Japan to see a natural increase since the proportion of women among politicians is one of the lowest in the world.

Eliminate the word "politicians" and the same is true about almost any category of professionals in Japan. But, unlike it politics where the men MIGHT be willing to accept something like "affirmative action", since it could gain their party some votes, the concept will not gain any traction in any other part of J-Inc. Shame that a country is willing to let 50% of its intellectual capability just be minimized.
