Japan is a country where people have no interest in politics. When I went to America, everybody seemed to like their country. It was like ‘Go America!’ But we don’t have that in Japan. The attitude here is ‘Who cares? As long as I’m happy.’

Ah_so
Politics, in the sense it is understood in the West, does not exist. What do the parties stand for? What are the issues that raise the public's emotions? Questions I cannot answer.
