quote of the day

Japan is having fewer children, so universities want to hold more courses for adults. They also want to contribute to society by helping women enter the working world.

Many women already have college degrees, but when they aim to get married so they never work again, that is the problem.

Eating cake with the ladies is more fun I guess. Not my style.

Never too old to improve your lot in life. There have been adults at colleges and universities for simply ages in the US. Time to get with the program Japan. As a university lecturer it is always a delight to have an older student in class ( by older I mean anything from late 20s and up) they up the ante for the younger students and brings wonderful experiences.

No. What this professor fails to take into account is the rising cost of universities and the declining disposable income of the elderly and the lack of benefit for the investment in future income. This may produce a small number of students, but nowhere near enough to financially stabilize Japanese universities.

What adult would want to go through the pointlessness of Japanese university? Perhaps Japanese universities will change after half of them go out of business. I don't know, that might take a while. Probably too little too late.
