Some of it is worth taking pride in (Hayao Miyazaki's works, etc), but I find a lot of it is an embarrassment to Japan. As many people see some of the stranger things and assume that all of Japan is that weird. I think that there a other parts of Japanese culture that are more worthy of pride.

Actually, I very much agree with the vice foreign minister. I think it can be very healthy to remember the child in us. This is a special quality that can be found in Japan. As long as it is healthy, clean fun, I think it is a great way to teach others about Japan.

Manga and anime yeah I believe it does draw a lot of fans. I have several friends who are deep into anime - which automatically makes them interested in Japan.
