Outside of putting a qualifier on that statement (i.e. a lot of kids, not all,) I can't find anything wrong with this sentiment.

i think that the martial arts are wonderful for children. it teaches respect for those upbove, the same level and below - NOT depending on age but in terms of the amount of time spent and level reached in that marial art. it is a REAL sempai/kohai relationship related to spiritual maturity rather than arbitrary age sempai/kohai realtionship (mental age - and not in a good way - of many adults is much lower than the kids i teach - 12 year olds). he has my support and good wishes.
