Japan in a nutshell. Japan hasn't moved an inch since 1990. Taking a risk and failing is better than failing by not taking a risk. But Japanese society doesn't see it that way.

The only way to truly get the life you want is by overcoming the fear of failure, having a positive mindset, taking a positive, calculated risk and planning a strategy to do so like Mr. Ken Watanabe. In this modern world negative thinking appears to be more prevalent than positive thinking with some people and they may not be even aware especially when they write and or talk. Positive thinking requires effort whereas negative thinking comes easily and uninvited. This has to do with education and the environment you live in. You view the world through your predominant mental attitude. If your thoughts are negative, your life and circumstances would mirror these thoughts. In the end positive, calculated risk taking can make you happier and more successful and is linked to self improvement, emotional engagement and control.
