Some guys still try to be manly and try to be like strong and stuff, but you know personally I'm not afraid to show my vulnerability because being vulnerable or being sensitive is not a weakness.
Quote of the Day ( 11 )
Junichiro Hori, a self-described herbivore, a term coined by author and pop culture columnist Maki Fukasawa to describe men in their 20s and 30s, who believe that friendship without sex can exist between men and women. (CNN)

Yes it it. That's why you will never be married buddy. There's no problem with having no sex between male and female friends. Japan's population is decliing for a reason. This quote gives you hat reason. All these men have grown up without fathers. THe fathers have been out working long hours so their mothers have been their only role models. Now they are a little too far on the sensitive side. Has anyone ever noticed how it's so 'cool' to be a cross dresser or a transexual in Japan? They are all over the TV! This might be a world where everything is OK now, but taking women's hormones is not going to increase or even maintain the population of this country!!

So like it's totally not like you know a sensitivity thing and all but like that vaguely valley girlish comment is like soooo lame.
There's certainly nothing wrong with sensitivity. That said, talking like you're 15 y.o is a weakness. Most women prefer their sensitivity with a side of intelligence, no offense. Vulnerability without intelligence, or at least a decent vocabulary? No thanks.

Yes. Sensitivity and intelligence, in that order (though it's a close-run race). Macho bone-headedness I can live without.

Being vulnerable is a weakness (almost by definition), being sensitive isn't. There's definitely no problem having female friends without sex. That's normal. But giving up the chase because you lack confidence? Well you're only kidding yourself.

I have male friends and they are not vulnerable at all, they are strong, and friendship is possible.

I have a sensitive side, but in no way take that for weakness or vulnerability. I can still get down. I have plenty of female friends, with whom I have had encounters with in the past or just have as a drink buddy. Its normal, this guy is and let me quote stirfry "herbivore: another word for puss" ( i changed the last one ).

That seems to be agreed by most so far. It seems that being manly is the exact thing that makes us different from females.

Back in my college days, we had another name for this, we called these guys FOH, Friend of the H..s (a common name for a garden tool). Guys who would not make moves on women, but would stop you in your progress. Nothing wrong with being platonic friends with the opposite sex, you actually need that sometimes, but I don't think acting like "one of the girls" is probably a bit too far just like a woman acting like "one of the boys" would be too.

The thing I hate about herbivore males is they hog all the sink, seats, mirrors in the gym changing rooms, preening themselves for what seems eternity, sometimes you just want a seat to brush your teeth...but...
They crack me up an the train fixing their hair in their make up mirrors.
They have taken metrosexual too far.
