The differences between the U.S. and Japan are great, but expect a Japan-like lengthy period of slow growth and deflation as America works down its debts.

"...but expect a Japan-like lengthy period of slow growth and deflation...," no never, American people are more active and known for their dynamic actions. Also, global investor will continue to trust U.S. (that's not the case with Japan). In short, US economy may go up or go down FAST...but no lingering like Japan.
