The most important rule of etiquette to follow with mixed bathing is that both men and women should look the other way. I hope bathers once again create an atmosphere in which men and women can feel comfortable in a mixed bathing environment.

Kiyokazu Taniguchi, 58, who heads a society to promote mixed bathing at hot spring resorts. Mixed bathing is enjoying a renaissance among young women in rural regions but one problem is the “alligator men,” who linger in the baths for hours at a time, moving about with their heads barely above the surface of the water as they edge nearer to female bathers—just like an alligator stalking its prey. I used to go to a mixed bath but I never saw any alligator men. (I'm a turtle head man myself.) The other men in the bath gawked at the girls in our group unashamedly. But I don't blame them. They couldn't help it, because the girls strutted around like a bunch of hoes. We thought it was funny. Anyway, the whole idea of getting a little peak in is part of the fun, isn't it?

Why aren't there any links to these baths? I've been trying to find them forever. Chomp chomp.

I despise the implication that men are "animals" in a bath. I have never bathed with alligator men, I do not plan on it either. I did enjoy a mixed bath with some elderly women and in spite of their giggles, it was soothing.

I think men are biologically evolved to take a look in spite of attempts to make them behave otherwise. I can't imaging guys not looking. Oh well...

C'mon, let them stare if they want. What's the problem, except your education?
