The number of women who suffer from anemia is increasing, mainly among women in their 40s. I think they should reconsider their dietary habits.

    Instead of going out with their friends for cake and coffee after dance lessons, Ikebana or what ever, they should go eat sticks of liver. Lots of iron and other minerals.

    Women these days are getting idle as far as their health goes, same for men of course but women seem to get problems that affect them greater than men when they reach their forties.

    Main way to prevent is cutting down on refined foods, eating plent of fresh food made at home like women used to. Iron tablet can be taken and also B12 and Folic acid. There are studies that sugesst women that are underweight with a low muscle mass are much more likely to suffer from anemia.

    Women like meeting their friends during the day and eating cakes and drinking coffees. This is ok as long asthe main meals of the day are well balanced. In fcat dance lessons may be of a benefit as all exercise boosts the immune system.

    They get anemia mostly because of severe food restrictions, e.g. diets. They drink supplements and think it's allright to ignore meat and other iron rich products, and to eat half an apple for breakfast . I myself am battling the consequenses of self induced anemia, severe ones, I could say, but in a society where it is more important how do you look rather than how do you feel, and sick-skinny girls like Yukina,Akina MInami, Nozomi are promoted like role models, avoiding anemia is harder and harder.

    They need to eat their dark green veggies, beans, and potatoes. And seaweed. Shouldn't be that hard to find in Japan.

    I totally agree, Gobo too. We women need iron in our diets, cause loose blood every month and as we get older we need to eat iron rich foods. Men don't need as much iron as women do cause women loose iron.
